Bobby is one of the few lucky individuals who has developed both the left and right side functions of their brain. One reason for this could be his lineage. Both his parents are members of the National Academy of Science. His father, Dr. Leopoldo Castillo is an academician and his mother Dr. Gelia T. Castillo is a national scientist.

    Constantly tinkering with gadgets since his youth, his instincts as an inventor have led him to create and patent designs and processes, not only for glasswork, but for a variety of uses. He is a member of the Filipino Inventors Society, with several utility and design patents to his name.
